Information on Tracy Gold
Born and bred in
West Wiltshire
Avid fan of Swindon
Town Football Club (well someone has to be!!)
Other interests include
socialising with friends, watching wrestling (just one of my many strange traits) and going to the cinema
Began singing 5 years
ago, doing karaoke at Butlins!
Really enjoyed, so
started going to local karaoke bars on a regular basis
Started to enter
karaoke competitions at local Chicago Rock Café, before moving on to enter talent competitions
In 2004,
I joined a 3-piece band in Bath (The Cupids) and sang in pubs and clubs in the South, including The Fox and Badger at Wellow,
but had to leave in early 2005 due to work commitments
In May 2005 came
the highlight of my career so far. Singing with the Smash Hit Musical Production
“That’ll Be The Day” in front of 1600 people at the Bournemouth Pavilion
The cast were all
amazingly supportive at the time and have continued to be on hand to offer advice and support when needed and my continual
thanks go to them for that (click here for photos)
Performing with That’ll
Be The Day really gave me the buzz to continue with my singing, so in June 2005, applied to appear on X Factor. I travelled down to Cardiff, queued for four hours, only to be told I had been unsuccessful after singing
‘Shout’ by Lulu – oh well, there’s always next year!!
In October 2005,
I was introduced to Pat and Hayley Mallon – Pat has been in the music business for more years than I care to mention
(!) and with their guidance, I started out on the local circuit. Initially, I
would go out singing with them, appearing at such places as The Old Burnt House in Odd Down and the Trades and Labour Club
in Trowbridge.
Since the beginning
of 2006, I have been gigging on my own and have performed at venues including The Radstock Hotel, The Prince of Wales at Peasedown
St John and The Metropolitan in Bath.
And finally, did
I ever return for that second X Factor audition – oh yes, what a glutton for punishment I am. In July 2006, I went to Bristol. Not quite so long to queue
this time – only 2˝ hours. I sang ‘The Rose’ by Bette Midler
and was so calm leading up to my audition. However, the second I opened my mouth
in front of the judges, I could hear my voice trembling. So again, no luck. Will I go for third time lucky? Who knows
– you’d better watch this space …….
I have been having
vocal training from Lee Ingram since February 2006. As well as vocal training, Lee also regularly performs with a BIG
BAND. For more information on Lee, you can click on this link to his website.
